Hi I'm Brian LaMacchia

cryptographer and computer security specialist

I am currently a Microsoft Corporation Distinguished Engineer and lead the Security and Cryptography team at Microsoft Research. You can read more about my work at Microsoft here.

I also currently serve as Treasurer of the International Association for Cryptologic Research and am a member of the Board of Directors of Seattle Opera. From 2009-2019 I served on the Board of Directors of the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF), including 2015-2016 as SIFF Board President.

I am also co-owner of Farcaster Films, an independent film production company.
